On Thursday 17 November, the TFIA Knit Cluster got the chance to meet some of the knit machines and technicians that they will be working with in The Hub. After months of meetings and discussion the members of the cluster finally got the chance to enjoy the benefits of all their hard work and start knitting.
The Knit Cluster members were given the opportunity to talk to technicians about the exciting potential of the Stoll machines that have already been installed in The Hub and also had the chance to see the latest trends from Stoll headquarters in Germany and view some amazing examples of the potential of the machine.
With some time spent working on the software the cluster group was able to see first hand the knit process from concept through programming and finally to a knitted sample. In fact the cluster designed the first sample knitted on our new knit machines.
In the words of one of our Knit Cluster members “That was a great day today! …. not only to learn about the Hub but also to meet the other people involved.”
